Fans have expressed strong disapproval of the new trailer for ARK: Survival Ascended’s major DLC. Snail Studios, the developers, are facing heavy criticism from gamers for their reliance on neural networks, as the trailer was entirely created using AI, with no manually crafted frames.

The DLC, titled ARK: Aquatica, is intended to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the original game. While developers have promised that 95% of the gameplay will be underwater and will include 17 new creatures, unique gear, quests, and an “intriguing storyline,” the announcement trailer itself has been met with negativity. Completely generated by neural networks and lacking any actual gameplay footage, it has caused significant backlash among gamers. The trailer’s voiceover, also created using generative AI, has drawn additional criticism. Currently, the original trailer holds a 96% negative rating.

ARK: Survival Ascended is a mandatory upgrade that has replaced the original ARK: Survival Evolved. This updated version boasts enhanced graphics, interactive foliage, dynamic water effects, cross-platform multiplayer, mod support, and incorporates all maps from previous expansions.
