Cricket Canada’s Chief Executive Officer, Salman Khan, has denied reports of his arrest. He stated that claims of his arrest for theft and fraud are completely untrue.

Earlier this month, Calgary Police charged Khan in connection with his past role in cricket administration, specifically during his time as president of the Calgary and District Cricket League from 2014 to 2016.

Khan clarified that the issue began as a civil case but has now become a criminal matter.

In a Facebook post on the Alberta Cricket Association page, Khan addressed the rumors, asserting his innocence and stating he was never arrested or bailed. He explained that a police complaint was made against him seven years ago, and he was contacted by an investigator.

Khan claims he was about to provide his evidence when charges were filed prematurely.

He insists that after seven years, nothing has been proven against him and he is prepared to defend himself, stating he has been fighting this for the past 8 years and is ready to continue.
