The Indian team’s success in the Champions Trophy is reflected in the latest ICC ODI rankings, with significant advancements in both batting and bowling categories.
In batting, India boasts three players in the top five. Shubman Gill remains at the No. 1 position. Rohit Sharma, after being named Player of the Final for his crucial innings of 76, has climbed two spots to No. 3. Virat Kohli, who scored 218 runs in the tournament, holds the No. 5 rank. Shreyas Iyer maintains his position at No. 8, making it four Indian batsmen in the top eight.
Indian spinners have also made their mark in the bowling rankings. Kuldeep Yadav has moved up to the third position, while Ravindra Jadeja is placed at tenth. Jadeja was particularly economical throughout the tournament, with an economy rate of 4.35.
New Zealand players have also seen positive movements in the rankings following their journey to the Champions Trophy final. Captain Mitchell Santner is now ranked second among ODI bowlers, jumping six places due to his impressive performances. Santner took nine wickets in the tournament with an economy of 4.80. He also ranks fourth in the ODI all-rounders list. Michael Bracewell, who scored a half-century in the final and was New Zealand’s second-highest wicket-taker in the Champions Trophy, is in seventh place in all-rounders rankings.
Rachin Ravindra, the highest run-scorer in the competition from New Zealand, has made a significant leap in both batting and all-rounder rankings. He climbed 14 places to 14th in ODI batting and eight places to eighth in the all-rounders rankings.
