Hasbro, the owner of the Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property, has announced plans to reveal information about the future of the Baldur’s Gate series soon.
Hasbro’s Vice President, Dana Ayob, shared this news in an interview. Ayob noted that the company is still considering the best ways to develop the franchise, but an announcement is expected in the near future.
It is assumed that this concerns the development of Baldur’s Gate 4, although official details have not yet been disclosed.
The previous game, Baldur’s Gate 3, was released in August 2023 after a period of early access. The game received critical acclaim and numerous awards, and was also a commercial success for both the developers and the owners of Dungeons & Dragons.
In September 2024, Larian Studios released a major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, which made changes to the endings and added mod support. This update was initially positioned as the final one.
