Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen, the captain of the FaZe Clan CS2 team, commented on the team’s performance in early 2025. He shared his thoughts on the team’s performance at IEM Katowice 2025, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, and the qualifiers for BLAST Bounty Spring 2025.
[Question: ‘How do you assess your results this year, especially at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025? You were one of the favorites of the tournament, and at first everything was going well’.] The first results were very bad — especially at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 — but at IEM Katowice 2025 we had a good chance. We were very close to beating Team Vitality on the third map, leading 12:7 on Dust2, but couldn’t close it out. In the end, they won the tournament. In the lower bracket, we won against G2, and then lost to Eternal Fire on Nuke after several series of overtime rounds. Classic FaZe.
Before PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, we had excellent preparation. We performed well in the group stage, took first place, but then we had a terrible day, in which we lost to Team Falcons. I think this defeat affected the match with Astralis for third place in the tournament. So the result was mixed. I see a lot of positive things, but I also notice problems that we need to solve as a team.
I understood that after the role changes that occurred due to the replacement, we would need more time [referring to the replacement of ropz with EliGE — editor’s note]. On paper, our lineup may not look the most logical, and it is not obvious from the outside how it will work. But my task and the task of the coaching staff is to make it work, both at this tournament [BLAST Open Spring 2025] and at the next ones.
On March 19, FaZe Clan will begin their performance at BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 — in the first match, the team will compete with Virtus.pro.
