Larian Studios CEO Sven Vincke disagrees with claims about the decline of single-player games. In a social media post, he expressed his opinion that talks about single-player titles losing out to service games are exaggerated.

Vincke believes it is premature to “bury” story-driven games. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that for such games to succeed and recoup their costs, it is simply necessary to make them well and appealing to a broad audience. In the comments, users noted that even quality projects can fail, as the success of a game depends not only on the efforts of developers.

Larian Studios previously announced the development of two new games unrelated to the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Details about the setting of future projects have not yet been disclosed. The studio’s latest release was Baldur’s Gate 3, released in 2023.
