Matteo Berrettini Receives £11 Olive Garden Gift Card After Winning “Hottie” Tournament

Tennis star Matteo Berrettini was given an £11 gift card to a chain restaurant in a car park after winning what he called a “ridiculous” tournament.

Berrettini, who previously reached the Wimbledon final in 2021 and has been a semi-finalist at both the Australian and US Open, has now gained a unique 11th title.

Berrettini, a winner of ten career titles, can now add this unique 11th to his achievements.

The 28-year-old was named “The Hottie” after fans voted for the most attractive male tennis player.

The competition was organized by former American players John Isner, Sam Querrey, Jack Sock, and Steve Johnson from the Nothing Major Podcast.

Berrettini was jokingly crowned champion in the parking area at the Indian Wells Open.

Querrey and Johnson awarded him a “winner” sash, a plastic trophy, and an £11 gift card for the Italian restaurant chain Olive Garden.

Isner posted on Instagram: “We at Nothing Major want to make Matteo feel at home in Rome.”

Fans found it amusing, with one commenting: “The dedication to give him a plastic trophy and a $15 Olive Garden coupon is hilarious.”

Another fan added: “This is the most funny and absurd tennis thing I’ve ever witnessed.”

A third person wrote: “Hahaha Olive Garden for the Italian.”

The podcast later joked: “Can you believe this wasn’t sponsored by Olive Garden? PS: Olive Garden, contact us.”

Berrettini won the “hottie” title, surpassing players like Tommy Paul, Casper Ruud, Grigor Dimitrov, and British No. 1 Jack Draper.

Despite earning £9.6 million in his career, the podcast playfully stated they have “covered the cost of his ravioli.”
