The enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V has received the lowest user review score on Steam among all games in the GTA franchise. According to SteamDB data, the next-gen version of the title has earned only 51% positive reviews.
For comparison, the original GTA V, now labeled as Legacy in the store, has over 86% positive reviews. Even the criticized GTA: The Trilogy collection was better received by Steam users. Before the release of the next-gen GTA V, Grand Theft Auto III held the lowest rating with 65% positive reviews (San Andreas and Vice City remasters received 73-76%).
The Enhanced Edition was initially released in 2022 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. In March 2025, this version became available on PC. It has a separate client, separate progression, and multiplayer. Gamers criticized the game for save transfer issues, excessive advertising of Rockstar’s paid services, and minor graphical improvements.
