Indian captain Rohit Sharma has praised his team’s exceptional performance in recent International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments. He pointed out that their consistent success, marked by 23 wins in 24 matches across the last three major men’s events and securing two trophies, reflects the high caliber and deep talent within the squad.

Sharma acknowledged this achievement as a significant milestone, emphasizing the team’s ability to consistently perform at a high level. He admitted disappointment over losing the ODI World Cup final in 2023 but proudly noted their T20 World Cup victory last year and their continued winning streak in the Champions Trophy.

He highlighted the team’s focus on enjoying their cricket and winning games, despite external pressures and speculations. Sharma believes this positive and focused mindset has been crucial to their success over the past few years.

Reflecting on their recent form in 2024 and 2025, India has won all 13 matches across different formats. While drawing comparisons to MS Dhoni’s era, who led India to multiple ICC titles, Sharma noted that even Dhoni’s successful teams didn’t achieve two consecutive ICC trophy wins while remaining undefeated.

Sharma credited the team’s undefeated run and two consecutive ICC wins as a remarkable achievement. He emphasized that the team effectively utilized the playing conditions and maintained a strong winning mentality, even after setbacks like the 2023 World Cup final loss. He stressed the importance of staying in the game until the very end, a strategy they focused on in the recent finals.

Furthermore, Sharma lauded the versatility and depth of the team, where almost every player has made valuable contributions throughout the tournament. He noted that the collective effort from the entire squad, with contributions from both batsmen and bowlers, has been key to their consistent success, especially considering the challenging wickets.

Finally, Sharma highlighted the natural hunger and passion within the team, which drives their performance and success.
