Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov, a professional Counter-Strike 2 player, has voiced his thoughts on the Train map and delivered a harsh critique of Anubis. In an interview with Anastasia “Heccu” Tolmacheva, the esports star discussed his perspective on the current map pool.

When questioned about the revamped Train, sh1ro responded that he doesn’t believe the current iteration of the map, as designed by Valve, is quite ready for competitive team play at the highest levels. He elaborated that while the fundamental macro gameplay remains unchanged, the removal of numerous smaller elements has reduced the available defensive (CT) positions. Sh1ro also feels that Train is now less impactful for players utilizing the AWP. He did concede that the map is an improvement over Vertigo or Inferno, but emphasized that further refinements are necessary due to what he perceives as a limited range of strategic options. Despite never encountering issues with Train previously, sh1ro admits he is not particularly fond of its current state, though he still considers it superior to Vertigo.

Turning his attention to Anubis, sh1ro expressed strong disapproval, labeling it as “shit.” He justified this strong reaction by pointing out Anubis’s inclusion in the map pool coincided with the removal of Vertigo. Sh1ro maintains that Train is fundamentally a good map, but it is in need of substantial revisions, particularly concerning the defensive side.

Earlier, Sokolov had ranked himself above Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov when listing the all-time best players in his role within CS history.
