Danny “zonic” Sørensen, the coach of Team Falcons’ CS2 roster, shared his thoughts on Nikola “NiKo” Kovač. In an interview with Pley.gg, he emphasized the esports player’s outstanding individual level of play and his captaincy skills.

Zonic stated, “Over the years, NiKo has matured significantly while maintaining an exceptional level of individual performance. I believe we, as a team, should now play around him more. NiKo takes charge of calls in defense, and in this aspect, he is the best player I have ever worked with.”

He added, “At the same time, NiKo needs to focus more on his own game and less on overseeing the entire team’s actions. Meanwhile, my task is to find a way to effectively involve everyone else in the game. For example, degster could use the AWP more often, allowing NiKo to concentrate on his individual play.”

NiKo joined Team Falcons at the beginning of 2025. With him, the team participated in IEM Katowice 2025, ESL Pro League Season 21, and PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, securing second place in all three tournaments.

Prior to this, Kovač played for G2 Esports for over four years. His former teammate Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov had previously mentioned that after NiKo’s departure, the team lacked a strong in-game leader in defense.
